About Reiki Federation Ireland

Reiki Federation Ireland was created from the desire to promote high standards of Reiki practice and to foster a National Reiki community, representative of all lineages of Reiki. It is open to anyone who has done a Reiki workshop in the presence of a Reiki Master/Teacher.

The idea for a Reiki Federation was conceived in 2002. Many people within the Reiki community felt the need to create an instrument where all voices of Reiki could be heard. This led to a National Reiki gathering in Portlaoise in 2002. At this meeting a volunteer committee was formed. They worked for a year to create a constitution and framework for Reiki Federation Ireland. The collective input from the meeting in Portlaoise provided the skeletal structure for the work that followed.

In November 2003, Reiki Federation Ireland was officially formed at the first AGM held in Mullingar. The federation has achieved a lot despite its young life. We have succeeded in getting reduced insurance premiums for our members. (See Benefits of Membership). Regular newsletters, a practitioner referral list, an annual social gathering and this web site are testament to our commitment to serve our members. We are delighted that the original dream held by members in the Reiki community for an inclusive federation has been realised.

RFI is a member of FICTA (Federation of  Irish Complementary Therapy Associations) which represents the interests of complementary therapy associations to Government and other relevant agencies.

Reiki Federation Ireland is a national professional Reiki body, established in 2002 by a number of Reiki practitioners and teachers.

RFI is a non-profit making organisation set up to provide support for members and the public.
