A National Reiki meeting was held in October 2002, to discuss the formation of an Irish Reiki Federation. Reiki practitioners and teachers from all over Ireland attended the meeting.
This initial meeting sprung from the need to create a Federation that was representative of the wider Reiki community. It was agreed that the organization would be called Reiki Federation Ireland. Those in attendance submitted excellent ideas for a Mission Statement, Code of Ethics and Code of Practice.
Volunteers from this meeting formed a working committee to build the framework necessary for Reiki Federation Ireland.
This group met regularly in the year after the initial meeting. During that time, the constitution for Reiki Federation Ireland was created. This was presented at an open meeting on October the 20th, 2003 and at the first AGM on November 17, 2003.
